First Annual ATV Olympics - July 2005

Thanks to everyone that helped provide the lunch for the club, and to
those that volunteered to help with the events.
The ATV Olympics was held at Popecreek Motorsports in Aledo IL. We had an
open ride in the morning and then a basic lunch around 11:30.
In the afternoon we started off with a poker run through the woods. Then a
water balloon relay. For the relay a group of 32 adults and 6 kids were
paired up randomly and then had to chose whose bike they would ride for
the relay. This turned out to be a lot of fun. Next was the ATV barrel race.
We setup a barrel race course similar to a horse barrel race and ran against
the clock. The main event of the day was the mud bog event held in the creek.
The creek level was a little low and perfect for a timed run around a course that
was staked out. The total distance was close to 100 yards. The Mud Bog champ for
2005 was Dave "Brutus" Benson aboard his Polaris Sportsman 800.

The Barrell Race followed the Water Balloon Relay. If anyone has any pics
of the barrell race event I would like to post them here.
